What we are looking for:

Under the supervision of the Chief Investment Officer, Private Wealth, the Senior Analyst will contribute to fostering and delivering excellence in investment management across the Private Wealth investors’ portfolios. To be successful, the Senior Analyst will collaborate closely with many groups within the organization, namely the Private Wealth Investment Counsellors in Canada and the U.S., the asset allocation, portfolio optimization and portfolio implementation teams as well as the CIO Offices of the Public and Private Markets division. They will monitor investment trends, best practices in portfolio construction, and conduct analyses of internal and external investment strategies to be deployed in clients’ portfolios.

Your responsibilities:

Investment Platform

  • Research and stay up to date on events and trends in capital markets, and their impact on investor portfolios;
  • Develop an understanding of private wealth investors’ portfolio construction needs, identify gaps, and participate in identifying internal and external investment solutions.
  • Analyze internal and external investment strategies across liquid and private markets, by monitoring performance, competitive positioning, and risk, to enhance the understanding and quality of the investment platform.

Portfolios & Analytics

  • Collaborate with internal Fiera Capital partners to optimize investment portfolios;
  • Accompany the private wealth investment counsellors in defining their investors’ strategic asset allocation and the application of the tactical positioning;
  • Contribute to increasing the knowledge and understanding of non-traditional investment solutions among private wealth investors;
  • Develop quantitative monitoring process to ensure a competitive and consistent investor experience across the platform;
  • Develop investor portfolio sustainability and ESG scoring and reporting.

Thought Leadership

  • Participate in the creation and update of relevant and timely private wealth investment communications;
  • Deploy impactful private wealth thought leadership on portfolio construction through written publications, webinars, conferences and video capsules.

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Sciences or equivalent discipline;
  • CFA designation, CAIA or other relevant designations considered an asset;
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an investment related position;
  • Strong knowledge of investment management concepts, asset allocation, portfolio trading and rebalancing, and public and private markets investments;
  • Advanced Excel modelling and PowerPoint;
  • Strong curiosity and proactiveness traits;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build trust, collaborate and influence;
  • Strong French and English oral and written communication skills.
