Position title: Sr Business Analyst, Financial Systems

Location Montreal

Reports to: Director, Financial Systems

Reporting to the Director, Financial Systems you will work within the BW Business Team and bridge the gap between our business partners, Master data team and BW IT team by translating their business needs into BW solutions. This includes the documentation of the business requirement story and data mapping to the source when needed. This position will also involve identification/development of and coordination of unit and user acceptance test plans as well as execution to ensure that technical solutions meet the needs of the business. You will also be involved in the planning, execution and delivery of various ongoing projects (Upgrade, Migrations, etc.)

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Build relationships with business clients and act as a liaison between the business community and technical team.
    Assist in determining value and priority of competing projects across multiple business functions to better create roadmaps and timelines.
    Analyze change requests to determine feasibility in relation to existing business requirements and processes.
    Interface with BW IT team to understand whether we can meet business and technical requirements.
  • Anticipate the needs of the business and align solutions to strategic initiatives.
  • Deliver design documents (requirement gathering and analysis, design, testing, deployment and plan support maintenance).
  • Identify missing requirements based on experience and business goals.
    Ensure transition and documentation for ongoing system support.
    Work with business partners to develop acceptance criteria / test cases in order to develop comprehensive test plan and perform needed application testing.
    Maintain all documentation, including business requirements, report requirements, and support documentation.
  • Document process and data requirements, source systems involved to assist in determining project feasibility of Change requests.
  • Creating and maintaining Management reports for decisions making by various department managers.
  • Timely validation of data transfer between various systems to ensure the accuracy of information.
  • Developing and presenting training material (manuals) to end users and super users.
  • Participation in the harmonization of data from various sales and financial systems.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business Management, engineering, Information Technology or Accounting.
  • 8+ years of business/industry experience.
  • 10+ years as a business, technical or systems analyst.
  • Experience and involvement in IT Projects.
  • Strong understanding of Business Warehousing concepts with knowledge of ETL and Reporting tools:
  • SAP BW
  • BEX
  • SAP
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio with a mandatory advanced level of Excel.
  • Tableau knowledge is an asset.
  • Accounting with an accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA) or working towards is an asset.
  • English spoken and written is essential; French spoken and written is an asset.
