We invite applications for the position of financial analyst, research in the Financial Services Office. This is a full-time continuing position.

Reporting to the assistant controller, the incumbent is responsible for analytical and financial support in research contract and grant administration, including liaising with the principle investigators (PIs), the director of research services, and funding agencies. The successful candidate will have an undergraduate business degree, with a concentration in accounting preferred. Candidates with a business degree in another area of concentration with relevant experience and candidates with equivalent work experience may be considered. A minimum of two to three years of relevant financial accounting experience, including experience in compliance, business process, and financial management, preferably in a post-secondary environment, is required. They must have knowledge of accounting principles, practices, taxes, and reporting requirements, including fund accounting, preferably in a post-secondary or non-profit organization. Strong communication skills, analytical and organizational skills, and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with people are required. Accuracy is essential and attention to detail is critical. They must be able to consistently apply independent judgment and have a customer service focus. Experience in a large computerized accounting environment, demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and the ability to quickly learn new software, accounting, and reporting systems is essential.
