The Student, Junior Financial Analyst will support reporting, analysis, expense management, governance, and continuous improvement activities within the Canadian IT Financial Management team. This role provides hands-on experience working with financial data, preparing management reporting, supporting Tech costs management oversight processes, and assisting with strategic initiatives across Sun Life Canada. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Technology, Business Units and Enabling Functions to analyze cost drivers, provide value added insights for decision making, optimize processes leveraging AI, and updating documentation as required. The scope of work may evolve throughout the term based on business priorities and individual development objectives, providing broad exposure to enterprise expense management financial stewardship, and operational governance practices. What will you do? Assist with identifying tech cost savings through deep dive analysis Partner with various business and enabling functional partners to identify opportunities for process simplification and operational improvements Support project and reporting activities through data collection, analysis, and presentation development leveraging AI for efficiency wherever possible Assist in documenting business processes, procedures, and knowledge management resources Support preparation of presentations, dashboards, reporting packages, and communications for leadership Support governance activities related to expense management, project investments, technology spend oversight, and value realization initiatives Conduct research and analysis to support business decisions and strategic initiatives Assist with maintaining shared repositories, documentation libraries, and team resources Participate in cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders across Sun Life Canada Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on increasing efficiency and enhancing the employee and client experience What do you need to succeed? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Curiosity to understand tech costs including cost drivers Desire to understand how large organizations operate Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ownership of assigned work Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams Experience with AI, data analysis, reporting, or process documentation is considered an asset The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
