4-Month Co-op Term | January 2027 to April 2027 Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster, and easier. Our Payments (PRESTO) Finance Operations team is looking for a Co-op Student, Settlement & Treasury to support key financial processes that ensure accurate reporting, reconciliations, and fund management. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in finance operations, accounting processes, and treasury activities while working alongside experienced professionals. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Settlement & Treasury, you will contribute to a variety of projects and day-to-day financial operations that support the department's success. What will I be doing? * Support daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate and balanced. * Assist with preparing journal entries and maintaining supporting documentation for financial transactions. * Review and reconcile information from internal systems and external partners to support accurate financial reporting. * Help maintain established financial controls, processes, and procedures. * Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase operational efficiency. * Prepare reports, summaries, and supporting documentation for the team. * Organize, track, and maintain documentation related to financial and treasury processes. * Provide administrative and analytical support on projects and initiatives. What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need? Required * Currently enrolled full-time in a recognized post-secondary co-op program and eligible to complete a co-op work term as part of your academic requirements, with plans to return to school following the work term. * Currently enrolled in Business, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or a related field. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to work accurately with data. * Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities. Assets * Previous work, volunteer, academic, or co-op experience in a business, finance, or accounting environment. * Experience working with financial data, reporting, or reconciliations. * Familiarity with financial systems, databases, or data analysis tools. * Interest in pursuing a career in Accounting, Finance, Treasury, or Financial Operations. * Experience supporting process improvements or operational efficiency initiatives.
