About The Role

The Financial Business Analyst at ASCO plays a pivotal role in supporting the organization’s financial, operational, and strategic objectives through detailed analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This is a permanent full-time position based at the Hawkesbury Office, with a 100% office-based environment. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, project management, operations, and senior leadership, to provide accurate financial insights and recommendations. The role involves designing and maintaining financial and operational reporting tools, analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities, and advising senior management on financial strategies. The Financial Business Analyst is essential in enabling data-driven decision-making, optimizing processes, and ensuring the organization’s financial health aligns with its strategic goals.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and/or finance, preferably within a construction or project-based environment University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA designation or actively working towards obtaining CPA certification Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual proficiency in English and French is preferred Strong analytical thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills High attention to detail with the ability to present complex data and concepts clearly to senior management Expertise in Excel and Power BI or equivalent dashboard and data visualization software Eligibility for security clearances and possession of a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial and operational data for analysis and reporting Design, develop, and maintain financial and operational reports and dashboards to support business decision-making Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements Recommend and implement process enhancements and system upgrades to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on financial analysis Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities Ensure compliance with financial policies, standards, and regulations Assist in the development of financial models to support project evaluations and business initiatives Participate in audits and internal control reviews as required Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging financial analysis tools and techniques
