This is a 13-month maternity leave contract role for an experienced accountant who is looking for a new challenge!
ABOUT THE POSITION Reporting to the CEO, this role will oversee all aspects of the finance function, ensuring strong financial reporting, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and reliable reporting to support organizational decision-making. Some of the duties include but are not limited to: Lead the day-to-day operations of the finance team and provide support, guidance, and mentorship. Oversee financial statements, budget-to-actual reporting, forecasts, liquidity planning, deferred revenue, program reporting, and investment reporting. Ensure audits, tax filings, regulatory requirements, and compliance obligations are completed accurately and on schedule. Provide financial analysis and insights to help support key business decisions. Enhance charitable compliance processes, including fund accounting, earned revenue, and reporting requirements. Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities to mitigate financial and operational risks. Present financial updates, insights, and reporting to the CEO, Investment Committee, and Board. Provide financial guidance on legal, operational, and strategic matters as needed. Provide coaching and mentorship to the accounting team. Ad hoc duties as needed. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary: $140,000 to $160,000 4 weeks vacation Extended health and dental benefits. REQUIREMENTS Designated CPA 7+ years of accounting experience Non-for-profit experience is required. Charity/donation accounting experience is required.
