What You’ll Do; As a Junior Accountant, Accounts Receivable and Billing with Golf Town you will support the timely and accurate preparation of internal and external monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Within this role you will be responsible for key accounting activities, including accounts receivable, billing, vendor support, gift card transactions, employee reimbursements, fixed asset management, reconciliations and related reporting and analysis.
Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting working papers for assigned areas, including trade receivables, vendor support, customer service transactions, gift card transactions, fixed assets and prepaids. Maintain accurate billing records for assigned areas, including corporate sales, gift card sales, vendor marketing programs, volume rebates, co-op programs and rental income. Issue billings to corporate customers and vendors, reconcile related accounts receivable balances and coordinate timely and accurate payment follow-up. Perform daily cash application and ensure receipts are applied accurately and on a timely basis. Research and respond to billing, collection and reconciliation questions, escalating issues to vendors, corporate customers or management as required. Set up customer accounts and maintain accurate customer information in the accounts receivable module. Oversee the processing and administration of employee reimbursements. Support the processing, reconciliation and management of gift card activity. Support continuous process improvement of existing accounting processes and procedures to reduce processing time, eliminate non-value-added activities and minimize manual intervention. Perform timely variance analysis of actual results against plan, prior year and forecast for assigned areas. Prepare ad hoc management reports and analysis, as required. Support the year-end audit process by preparing schedules, responding to audit inquiries and providing supporting documentation as required.
What You'll Bring; Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field required. Accounting degree or diploma preferred; 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience; retail experience is preferred. Strong analytical, reconciliation and business process skills. Ability to multitask, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced Excel skills required; Power BI experience is considered an asset. Experience working with ERP or accounting systems is considered an asset. Independent, self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
