To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You'll Be Doing As a Financial Plan Review Consultant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of financial plans created for our clients. You'll leverage your deep expertise in financial planning (especially retirement and education planning) to conduct comprehensive reviews of complex financial plans, using both established criteria and your own subject matter knowledge. By providing constructive feedback and actionable recommendations to Financial Advisors and their Leaders, you'll help drive continuous improvement and build capability across our sales force. You'll also identify gaps and opportunities in the planning process, contribute to the development of tools and training materials, and actively participate in special projects that enhance operational effectiveness. Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and staying current on industry trends will be integral to your success in this role. You can effectively perform all work activities remotely, and will only be required to be on-site on an occasional basis. How You'll Succeed Financial Plan Quality Assessment – Review, analyze, and report on the quality of financial plans, with a particular focus on retirement and education plans, using both standardized criteria and your subject matter expertise. Documentation & Validation – Obtain, review, and interpret supporting documentation and client notes from Advisors to validate plan inputs and assumptions. Feedback & Risk Management – Provide constructive feedback to Advisors and their Leaders, highlighting areas of risk and opportunities for improvement through both written communication and one to one consultation calls, where applicable. Training & Resource Development – Identify opportunities for new training, job aids, and resources; design and deliver training content in partnership with Talent Management or directly to stakeholders. Continuous Improvement – Share insights and suggestions to enhance planning tools, processes, and operational effectiveness; stay current on financial and retirement planning strategies. Who You Are You have proven financial planning experience. You bring a minimum of three years’ practical experience in financial planning and hold either a Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation (required) or a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. You’re a subject matter expert. You possess in-depth knowledge of the financial planning process, with a strong focus on retirement plans, including expertise in Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution, Hybrid Pensions, and Commuted Values. You’re a skilled communicator. Your well-developed interpersonal, writing, and facilitation skills enable you to influence, persuade, and support others effectively. You’re resourceful and analytical. You excel at solving problems, analyzing complex financial information, and interpreting data to provide valuable insights. You thrive in collaborative environments. You’re a team player who works well with others and adapts easily to ambiguity and continuous change. Values matter to you.
