About the Role
This role owns external growth beyond core sales. It combines: Corporate Development (M&A, strategic investments, ecosystem strategy) Business Development leadership and support (partnerships, growth initiatives, complex commercial structures)
The mandate is to create leverage—accelerating growth, market access, and product capability through deals, partnerships, and strategic initiatives that materially move enterprise value. This is a deal-driven, execution-oriented role, reporting directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities
Corporate Development (M&A, Strategic Transactions) Source, evaluate, and prioritize acquisition, merger, and investment opportunities Build financial models, valuation analyses, and strategic business cases Lead end-to-end deal execution: LOIs and term sheets Commercial, financial, and operational due diligence Negotiation and closing Partner with Finance, Legal, Product, and Operations on: Capital structure implications Integration planning Post-close value realization Maintain a rolling pipeline of near-, mid-, and long-term strategic targets
Strategic Partnerships (Primary Ownership) Identify and close high-impact partnerships, including: Technology and platform partners Device or hardware manufacturers AI, data, and automation partners Financial services, payments, and lending partners Channel and distribution partners
Design and negotiate partnership structures: Revenue share and co-selling OEM / embedded offerings White-label or exclusive arrangements Joint go-to-market initiatives
Ensure partnerships deliver measurable outcomes: Revenue impact Pipeline acceleration Product differentiation Market expansion
Business Development Support for Growth Initiatives Act as strategic BD support for: Complex enterprise opportunities Non-standard or multi-party deals Strategic accounts requiring ecosystem alignment
Help structure: Custom commercial models Strategic pricing, bundling, and long-term agreements Partner-enabled growth initiatives
Work closely with Sales and Marketing to: Launch new growth initiatives Support geographic or vertical expansion Enable co-selling and partner-led deals
This role does not carry a sales quota, but is accountable for enabling and accelerating revenue through leverage and deal design.
Growth Strategy & Market Intelligence Identify new growth vectors beyond the core sales motion Evaluate build vs buy vs partner decisions Monitor competitive landscape, consolidation trends, and emerging threats Advise the CEO and executive team on: Market entry strategy Ecosystem positioning Strategic priorities Prepare board-level materials related to growth initiatives and transactions
Execution & Accountability Own KPIs tied to: Closed transactions Partner-sourced or partner-influenced revenue Strategic initiatives launched Time-to-market acceleration Operate with speed, discipline, and high commercial judgment Translate strategy into executed deals—not slide decks
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred. 5+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, M&A, or a high-growth start-up environment. Proven track record of sourcing and executing M&A deals - you are a hunter, not just a researcher. Strong financial acumen, with expertise in financial modelling, valuation, and deal structuring.
