About the role
The mission of the Data Security and Valorization department is to explore and develop innovative artificial intelligence and automation solutions in the security field (cybersecurity, fraud, internal and external threats, etc.), ensure active monitoring and stay on top of new developments in the field to maintain and strengthen the organization's security posture through artificial intelligence. As a senior security data scientist, you'll help support, maximize and automate security decision-making using artificial intelligence and improve analytics practices within the Desjardins Group Security Office (DGSO). Your projects and initiatives require deep knowledge of your line of work. You help various stakeholders valorize data for security needs. You interact with stakeholders working in other fields to identify needs and present proposed solutions. More specifically, you will be required to: Transform and analyze complex, large-scale data to extract the knowledge needed to make decisions. This includes exploring and evaluating (scope, quality, etc.) the data available to meet business needs (detection, response, prevention, etc.). Design innovative data analysis approaches (diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive and cognitive) in partnership with experts on the risks associated with application and business processes. Implement, evaluate, document and monitor artificial intelligence solutions that are tailored to the monitoring needs of security operations teams. Contribute to the industrialization and development of security analytics methodologies, including by participating in research projects with partners in the industry and academic ecosystem. Identify, evaluate and prioritize data valorization opportunities, define solutions and develop an analytical roadmap that is integrated with Desjardins Group’s business plan and strategic vision. Ensure delivery teams are aligned in terms of the design and development of highly complex analytical solutions. What we offer* Competitive salary and annual bonus 4 weeks of flexible vacation starting in the first year Defined benefit pension plan that provides predictable, stable income throughout retirement Group insurance including telemedicine Reimbursement of health and wellness expenses and telework equipment * Benefits apply based on eligibility criteria. #LI-Hybrid What you bring to the table Bachelor's degree in machine learning, computer science, statistics, mathematics or a related field A minimum of six years of relevant experience in quantitative analysis or modelling Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered Experience developing and implementing artificial intelligence solutions Knowledge of French is required Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients Expertise with data science methodologies and their limitations (machine learning, statistics, artificial intelligence, etc.) Expertise in Python programming (scikit-learn, pyspark, pandas, numpy, scipy, langchain, etc.) and in analytical product development practices (git, mlflow, familiarity with MLOps concepts) Proficiency of development in Apache Spark (via pyspark or scala, knowledge of Databricks) Proficiency of deep learning techniques and development frameworks (keras, tensorflow, pytorch, etc.) Proficiency of generative AI-based development approaches (LLMs, RAGs, prompt engineering, etc.) Knowledge of security data (application logs, transaction logs, etc.) Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure Professional knowledge of a security sub-area Familiarity with using plain language techniques to communicate information through both speech and writing Communicates effectively, Complexity, Innovation, Interpersonal Savvy, Plans and aligns Trade Union (If applicable) At Desjardins, we believe in equity, diversity and inclusion.
