About the role
JOB OVERVIEW Private Pension Partners (“P3”) is seeking a Controller to join our growing team. Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Controller will support the day-to-day accounting, treasury, and financial analysis needs of P3’s managed real estate investment funds, and related group of companies. The role is primarily responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on property, fund and company performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the accounting operations and financial reporting for the Private Pension Partners group of companies, including subsidiaries, investment funds, and managed real estate entities. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting working papers. Manage the accounting for real estate acquisitions, developments, operating properties, and investment funds Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and general accounting functions while maintaining strong internal controls. Coordinate annual audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and other professional service providers. Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, financial analyses, and management reports to support executive decision-making and strategic planning. Partner with asset management, property management, development, leasing, and executive teams to provide financial insight and support business initiatives. Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies, financial processes, internal controls, and financial systems to enhance efficiency and scalability.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Comm (Hons.) Degree with a major in accounting and/or finance. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation Strong understanding of, or a keen desire to learn about, the commercial real estate industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Experience in Yardi and/or NetSuite software would be considered a strong asset.
