Financial Analyst - 1-2 Months
About the role
Our client, a large Canadian retailer is currently seeking a Financial Analyst join their team on a 2-month contract. This role follows a hybrid working arrangement requiring four days onsite and one day working remotely each week at their Toronto or Oakville offices. In this role the Financial Analyst will be responsible for:
Prepare and analyze significant journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close process across a variety of margin areas Ensure financial results are accurately recorded and compliant with IFRS requirements Investigate variances, identify trends, and present insights and recommendations to management Understand, maintain, and enhance accounting models, reconciliations, and reporting processes Partner with business teams, FP&A, Accounting, and internal and external auditors to support business objectives and reporting requirements Support audits, new business initiatives, and cross-functional projects
Qualifications
University degree in Accounting or Finance CPA designation (or working towards completion) 2+ years experience in a medium/large company at a Financial Analyst/Accountant level with strong IFRS knowledge Detail oriented with strong diagnostic and analytical skills Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex business environment, while maintaining attention to detail and a curiosity to understand the drivers behind financial results
