Financial Analyst - Trade & Capital Markets # 26-16929

Duration: 12 Months (Extension/Conversion possible) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Job Description: The Operations Officer III will support the Client’s Capital Markets settlement operations, ensuring accurate trade settlement, reconciliation, reporting, and operational support activities. This role requires strong experience in trade settlements, reconciliations, capital markets operations, and advanced Excel capabilities while maintaining high levels of accuracy, productivity, and risk control.
Responsibilities: • Perform daily trade settlement activities across CDS and DTC platforms. • Complete daily reconciliations, projections, and operational reporting within established timelines. • Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies, settlement breaks, suspense items, and clearing outages. • Provide fails reporting and settlement status updates to clients in accordance with service level agreements. • Respond to client and internal partner inquiries promptly and accurately. • Support NI24-101 trade matching processes and related reporting requirements. • Process CDS Arrow binds and netting activities while identifying and escalating unmatched trades. • Monitor pending trade reports and communicate settlement issues to stakeholders. • Review international settlement reports and assist with issue resolution. • Maintain operational procedures and support documentation updates when required. • Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, AML, and operational risk standards. • Monitor shared team inboxes and support daily operational activities. • Collaborate with team members to ensure business continuity and adequate operational coverage. • Participate in cross-training initiatives and contribute to process improvement efforts.
Experience: • Must have 5+ years of experience within banking, capital markets, or financial services operations. • Must have prior reconciliation experience involving investigation and resolution of financial discrepancies. • Must have hands-on trade settlements experience with CDS and DTC platforms. • Must have working knowledge of capital markets, securities operations, and trading environments. • Experience supporting settlement operations, trade matching, and reporting functions. • Strong understanding of operational controls, risk management, and regulatory requirements. • Experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Skillsets: • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and Macros. • Strong trade settlement and reconciliation expertise. • Knowledge of CDS, DTC, and securities settlement processes. • Capital Markets and Trading Operations knowledge. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and organizational skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines. • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset. • Nice to have: CSC coursework, CFA designation, CGA/accounting background, or coding knowledge.
Education: University degree required.
Certifications: CSC, CFA, or CGA certifications are considered an asset.
