Job Description What is the opportunity? Reporting to the Senior Director, Construction & Engineering, this position is primary responsible for establishing and upholding global standards, governance, and technical excellence for RBC’s construction and engineering projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency. All responsibilities carried out in accordance with Code of Conduct, RBC Values and Guiding Principles ensuring adherence to Privacy Principles. What will you do? Construction Governance: Develop, implement, and enforce global policies, procedures, and best practices for project delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and RBC-specific requirements. This includes but is not limited to end-to-end playbooks between RBC and its services partners as well as the horizontal workflow from design to delivery model. Standards Development: Define and maintain technical, quality, sustainability, and safety standards for construction and engineering initiatives, aligning with industry benchmarks and RBC’s goals. Contract & Contracting Approach: Oversee the creation of standardized contract templates, define and advise on construction contracting models based on region and context and ensure compliance with RBC’s risk, financial, and legal frameworks. Vendor Performance Management: Establish KPIs and evaluation frameworks to monitor and enhance vendor/contractor performance, fostering accountability and continuous improvement. Technical Expertise & Innovation: Provide authoritative guidance on engineering design, construction methodologies, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and quality. Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical, operational, and contractual risks across the project lifecycle. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with regional CPMOs, Integrated Program Directors (IPDs), and senior leadership to ensure global standards are adopted and localized effectively. What do you need to succeed? Must have: University degree or equivalent experience in construction management 7+ years of real estate experience with at least 3 years experience with large complex real estate services solutions development Experience in all/most facets of project lifecycle; strong comprehension of project management methodologies; genuine commitment to project environment and discipline Proven knowledge of all aspects of real estate projects including cost estimating, scheduling, construction contracts, value engineering, procurement methods and capital planning Experience in identifying and assessing key business processes, business process modeling and process mapping Experience with managing third party partners around performance and governance Advanced organizational and communication skills including presentation, facilitation, verbal and written with comfort presenting to senior level management and executives Multi-tasker comfortable working autonomously or with a team with an enthusiastic attitude for success; attention to detail; curiosity and passion for innovation and creative solutions What’s in it for you?
