Anti-Money Laundering Specialist
About the role
Sanctions Enforcement Specialist Contract 6+ months Montreal, QC
Key Responsibilities: Perform Level 2 reviews of transactions flagged in the OFAC Exception queue for potential sanctions violations. Conduct investigations on payments held for regulatory reasons and determine the appropriate course of action. Work closely with Financial Security, Legal, and Treasury teams on case investigations and wire transfer searches. Ensure transactions comply with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Validate updates to sanctions filtering systems and ensure accuracy of vendor file uploads. Contribute to operational control frameworks and prepare analytical reports as required. Key Requirements: 2–3 years of experience in OFAC / Sanctions investigations. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to sanctions compliance. Knowledge of funds transfer operations and payment systems such as SWIFT, Fedwire, CHIPS, LYNX, and ACH. Strong communication skills and attention to detail in a high-volume environment. Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Preferred: ACAMS or ACSS certification.
