About the Role As a key member of Highclere's Quality Assurance team, the Senior Mortgage Quality Assurance Analyst helps uphold the integrity of Highclere's residential mortgage operations. This role ensures files meet internal, insurer, third-party, and regulatory standards, while proactively identifying potential fraud and risk. The Senior Analyst also supports broker onboarding and contributes to operational improvements through quality insights.
Core Responsibilities
File Review & Policy Compliance Conduct pre- and post-funding quality assurance reviews on mortgage files Verify documentation for income, credit, down payment, and the property Ensure file accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with internal and external standards Risk Identification & Escalation Flag documentation issues, red flags, or inconsistencies Escalate high-risk files and suspected fraud where appropriate Support early issue detection to minimize exposure and enhance underwriting effectiveness Quality Control & Reporting Track and log QA findings for reporting and trend analysis Assign risk status to files and contribute to audit preparedness Support continuous improvement by identifying trends, recurring issues, and training needs Collaboration & Process Improvement Work with Originations to resolve file-level issues Share QA insights to support training and policy clarity Recommend process enhancements and maintain strong documentation practices Compliance & Regulatory Awareness Complete all required compliance and AML training Adhere to internal policies, AML legislation, and regulatory requirements Operate within Highclere's risk appetite and tolerance levels
Skills & Experience
Must-Have 5+ years in AML, quality assurance, underwriting, or compliance within mortgage or financial services Strong understanding of mortgage lending standards and documentation requirements Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable navigating internal systems Background in audit or internal control management Experience in prime lending is essential; Alt-A or non-prime lending experience is an asset Detail-oriented with strong analytical and investigative skills Familiarity with AML obligations and FINTRAC reporting requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills Able to manage multiple priorities and exercise discretion Embraces technology and thrives in a digitally driven environment
Nice to Have AML or compliance certification (e.g., CAMS)

Additional Information The base salary range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications This role is eligible to participate in the annual bonus program. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
