As Head of Finance, Canada, you will be a highly self-motivated individual who will contribute and challenge the business to realise high growth potential and meet its’ financial commitments; whilst maintaining robust stewardship of the financial controls.

What You'll Do
Partner with GM and leaders of both the Commercial and Academic businesses, to provide valuable input into the strategy and investment decision-making process. Develop financial plans and forecasts to promote growth. Implement automation and AI tooling to drive efficiency in the finance function and throughout the business. Challenge the leaders of the business to meet its’ financial commitments Maintain robust financial controls, highly accurate and timely information Develop and lead high-performing finance teams to partner both internal and external stakeholders Empower your teams and the business to achieve a high level of productivity and quality. Manage the reporting calendar to ensure the finance team meets its’ commitment to deliverables. Develop relationships and work across the business to influence others. Attend and oversee all material for business review meetings.
What You’ll Be Working On
Manage the finance function for Canada, with responsibility for the team, encompassing financial control, reporting and transactional finance. Lead, inspire and create a high achieving finance team through ongoing coaching, development and transformation. Embed finance as a partner to the business cultivating key relationships and provide financial insight and advice to the organisation Responsible for compliance and regulatory matters – including quarterly reporting, SOX and internal controls Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and KPIs; evolve the financial reporting to meet the needs of the business. Responsible for forecasting accuracy; ensure the business understands risk and opportunities above original targets; coordinate profit improvement plans and remedial actions where appropriate Oversee the annual statutory audit and manage the relationship with external auditors Lead the preparation, sign off and maintenance of the annual budget Implement company initiatives across the finance function Lead on finance transformation projects and continuous improvement initiatives leveraging knowledge and experience from other areas of the business Promote an inclusive and diverse culture, in line with the Henry Schein One values Work with the International FD to set targets for long range plans and budgets. Investment modelling to evaluate the financial viability of projects

What you’ll bring with you
5+ years’ experience in a Senior Finance leadership position Qualified accountant Experience in the SaaS/ Tech sector Proven record of leading, transforming and creating finance teams Experience in communicating, influencing and presenting at a senior level. Clearly communicate technically complex financial issues, combined with effective influencing skills at all levels Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience working in a highly regulated framework or globally listed organization (USGAAP, SOX, IFRS, local GAAP) Experience working on Microsoft Dynamics is preferable. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

The posted range for this position is between CAD $165,000 - CAD $185,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient and experienced in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, training, current skills, certifications & education etc.
