About the role

Job Description What is the opportunity? As part of the Group Risk Management (GRM) team, the Associate Director, IFRS 9 Execution & Analytics will assist in the execution, business engagement, and analytics of RBC’s IFRS 9 credit provisioning. The ideal candidate will support the Director, IFRS 9 Credit Provisioning Canadian Banking Retail in developing and generating reports for oversight committees and senior management, and manage the maintenance and development of requisite processes, SOX controls, and analyses in support of credit provisioning activities. What will you do? Understand and analyze portfolios results from IFRS9 expected credit loss models Prepare reporting and provide communication to functional stakeholders on portfolios’ analysis and results Assist with preparing reports and analyses for the Allowance Committee and senior executives, explaining/correlating reported expected credit loss (ECL) with macroeconomic and portfolio loss drivers. Work with the Credit Measurement System team to understand credit provision results and assumptions Work with the Credit Methodology and Modelling team to understand modelling assumptions and impact of ongoing methodology enhancement Enhance the reporting framework by creating more tailored reports for specific stakeholders and improving current processes Assist with preparing documentation of processes and policies including SOX controls as required Keep abreast of macroeconomic, regulatory, accounting and other financial industry developments as they relate to RBC's credit provisioning. What do you need to succeed? Must-have Strong banking and risk knowledge (wholesale or retail credit or both), with cross-functional capability Risk and Finance; University degree preferred in an analytical discipline such as Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics; Experience in SAS/R/Python/MATLAB or other mathematical / statistical programming languages Strong ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, complex concepts in non-technical terms to business segment and Finance. Quick learner with outstanding analytical, and problem solving skills, with an ability to work towards challenging deadlines and deliver under pressure Nice-to-have A thorough understanding of relevant accounting and regulatory rules and requirements (IFRS 9, Basel) preferred Experience with Canadian Banking retail portfolios (Home Equity Finance, Cards, Personal Lending) What’s in it for you?
