🔍 Role Overview The Commercial / Business Loan Originator is responsible for sourcing, originating, and managing commercial financing opportunities across Ontario. This includes commercial mortgages, business loans, bridge financing, acquisition financing, construction loans, refinancing, and structured lending solutions. This is an on‑site role in Toronto, ideal for someone who wants to leverage Bliss’s lender network, systems, and advisory support to close more deals—faster and with higher certainty.
💼 Key Responsibilities Originate new commercial and business financing opportunities through networking, prospecting, and relationship building. Develop and maintain referral partnerships (brokers, accountants, lawyers, realtors, bankers, developers, business owners). Assess client financing needs and gather required financial, corporate, and property information. Prepare lender‑ready loan proposals with support from Bliss’s internal systems and leadership. Collaborate directly with lenders to structure deals, negotiate terms, and coordinate underwriting. Manage documentation, conditions, and closing timelines to ensure smooth approvals. Maintain a strong pipeline and track market trends in commercial real estate and business lending. Uphold FSRA compliance standards and Bliss Advisory’s commitment to ethical, transparent financing.
📚 Qualifications Strong understanding of commercial mortgages and business lending, including structured financing solutions. Experience in commercial loan origination—banking, credit adjudication, commercial mortgage brokering, or private lending. Knowledge of underwriting and risk assessment for commercial credit facilities. Solid financial analysis skills, including review of financial statements, cash flow, and business performance. Proven business development ability with a track record of generating deal flow. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple deals simultaneously. Post‑secondary education in finance, business, economics, or related fields preferred. Familiarity with Canadian commercial real estate markets and regulatory requirements is an asset. Must be able to work on‑site in Toronto and collaborate closely with the Bliss Advisory team.
