WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE At Calgary Airports, our Real Estate team is responsible for maximizing the value of our airport lands and assets in both Calgary and Springbank Airports, while creating opportunities that support the long-term growth and sustainability of our airports. Through strategic business development, leasing, land development, and portfolio management, the team helps transform airport property into thriving commercial opportunities that generate revenue, attract investment, and strengthen our role as an economic driver for the region. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the airport's real estate strategy and business development activities, identifying and securing new commercial opportunities that maximize the value of airport lands and assets while driving long-term revenue growth. Oversee the full lands portfolio at both Calgary and Springbank Airports, including the newly established YYC AeroNex initiative and related real estate development activities, ensuring investments and opportunities align with organizational priorities and deliver strong commercial results. Lead complex leasing negotiations and commercial agreements, structuring deals that optimize long-term value, manage risk, and support both airport's strategic objectives. Manage the performance of both airport's real estate portfolios, fostering strong tenant relationships, ensuring contractual compliance, and identifying opportunities to enhance asset value and returns. Build and maintain strategic relationships with developers, tenants, brokers, investors, and industry partners to advance development opportunities and strengthen Calgary Airports' market presence. Provide financial oversight for the real estate portfolio, including business case development, budget management, revenue forecasting, and performance monitoring to achieve commercial targets. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements, while leveraging market intelligence and industry trends to inform real estate and development decisions. Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and commercial excellence across the Real Estate function. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING You’ll need to be eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC, don’t worry – we’ll help you through this! For more details, check out: RAIC Program and Application Information Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or a related field. Extensive experience in multi-disciplinary commercial developments, in lieu of education may be considered 10-12 years of progressive experience in real estate, leasing, land development, or business development. Minimum of 5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing managers or leading multi-team functions. Professional designations (e.g., real estate, finance, appraisal, or development-related credentials) are considered an asset. Demonstrated experience leading teams and delivering measurable commercial outcomes Proven track record of negotiating complex commercial agreements and driving revenue growth. Strong experience working with senior executives and influencing strategic decisions. Experience managing external partners, brokers, developers and stakeholders. Strong expertise in sector prospecting, multidisciplinary real estate developments, leasing, and commercial strategy. Advanced financial and analytical capability, including business case development and modelling. Strong negotiation and deal-making skills. Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building ability. Ability to balance strategic thinking with execution. Strong communication skills with the ability to present to executive audiences. Results-oriented mindset with accountability for commercial performance.
