About the role
As Davie Goup's Director of Finance, you will partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and lead the organization’s Finance Department. This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, driving strategic financial planning, and leading a high-performing finance team to support the company’s long-term growth and operational excellence.
More specifically, you will:
Act as a key strategic partner to the CFO, providing insights and recommendations on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead and manage the finance team, including Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), accounting, reporting, and treasury functions.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and controls.
- Monitor cash flow, capital expenditures, and investment strategies.
- Support corporate initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, financing, and major projects.
- Collaborate with executive leadership across departments to align financial strategies with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and audit standards.
- Mentor and develop team members to build strong succession pipelines.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or master’s degree preferred).
- CPA designation.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance roles.
- Proven experience managing large finance teams and complex financial operations.
- Strong experience working directly with executive leadership and boards of directors.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, shipbuilding, or large-scale project environments is an asset.
