Expected Compensation: Salary range of $90,000 to $120,000 commensurate with related experience.

The Opportunity: Our current CFO has signaled their intention to resign in the coming months for personal reasons, and so we are currently seeking a Financial Controller to join our team. This is a very exciting role with the opportunity to learn from the current CFO during a transition period. The successful candidate will report to the President & CEO, and be in charge of the Finance Team, building and managing core areas of the company, including accounting, budgeting, investments, enterprise risk management, and human resources administration. You will also be a key part of the management team supporting the current operations of the company, planning the future, implementing the company’s strategic priorities, and regularly reporting to our Board of Directors. You will also support regulatory reporting, the year-end audit process, and participate in ongoing projects while ensuring we maintain internal controls and adhere to company policies and procedures. This position offers the potential to grow into a Chief Financial Officer role in future years, and it is a key hire for the company. Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role CPA designation or working towards CPA designation is required Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance Strong financial acumen and analytical. Experience with IFRS is an asset Strong computer skills in programs such as Word, PowerPoint and especially Excel Broad information technology literacy is an asset Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills Highly effective interpersonal communication skills; the ability to build a positive environment Demonstrated aptitude in dealing with private and confidential information Professional, respectful, and approachable, in all interactions Insurance experience is preferred, but not required Experience working within the financial services industry is an asset Erie Mutual’s Dunnville head office is located southeast of Hamilton.
