The Cost Controller is responsible for the budget monitoring and financial analysis of a specific scope within a large-scale construction project. They ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of management data, actively contribute to the preparation of financial reports, and ensure compliance with the cost control processes and procedures established by Management.

What You Will Do

Support the preparation of initial budgets, periodic revisions, and forecasts at completion. Monitor commitments, incurred costs, project progress, and remaining work to be completed. Maintain and update management databases and operational tracking tools. Produce budget control reports and update operational dashboards and performance indicators. Analyze variances between budgeted and actual costs and recommend corrective actions. Prepare period-end accruals, validate committed costs, and ensure forecast accuracy. Monitor subcontractor budget performance and contribute to risk and opportunity assessments. Support continuous improvement initiatives, management tools optimization, audits, and financial reviews.

This role could be for you if you have :

Strong knowledge of cost control principles and budget monitoring practices. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and automation. Experience working with ERP systems, with SAP considered an asset. Ability to interpret and leverage Power BI reports and dashboards. Familiarity with complex project environments, including consortium structures. Understanding of project management concepts, including Earned Value Management (EVM). Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy. Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, organizational, and prioritization skills, combined with a proactive and autonomous approach.
