Intermediate Property Accountant North York, ON | Full-Time | On-Site
I'm currently working with a well-established and financially strong commercial real estate owner and developer to recruit an Intermediate Property Accountant to join their growing finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with commercial property accounting experience who enjoys taking ownership of a portfolio, partnering with property management, and working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. What You'll Be Doing: Manage the full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide commentary Complete balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and journal entries Prepare tenant billings, CAM recoveries, rent rolls, and HST returns Assist with annual operating budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis Monitor accounts receivable and collaborate with property management on outstanding balances Support year-end operating cost and realty tax reconciliations Work closely with property management and development teams on new property transitions Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
What We're Looking For: 3+ years of commercial property accounting experience Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting Experience preparing financial statements for commercial properties Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Experience with tenant billings, CAM recoveries, and operating cost reconciliations Yardi experience is highly preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills CPA designation or progress toward CPA is considered an asset Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
