Role Summary

The Accounting Manager will oversee and enhance financial operations, provide strategic insights, and support decision-making processes. This role requires hands-on involvement in accounting, financial planning, analysis, pricing, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-energy environment and bring a proactive approach to managing accounting complexities. This role will support Peak Processing Ltd. and support the public accounting functions for Australia as well. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
    • Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
    • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to leadership.
    • Support the financial modeling of new opportunities and initiatives.
  • Accounting & Compliance:
    • Support and consult on general accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations, including U.S., Australian and Canadian standards.
    • Prepare and file regulatory reports, including CRA compliance and audits,4C and 4D audits and collaborate on global filings, including public reporting. 
    • Support group consolidation to Australian accounting standards. 
    • Support annual financial audits and tax preparations.
  • Pricing & Quoting:
    • Develop pricing strategies and assist in preparing detailed quotes for potential clients.
    • Monitor cost structures to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.
  • Data & Process Optimization:
    • Use tools such as Power Query and other data analytics platforms to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy.
    • Analyze and visualize business activity queries to provide deeper financial insights.
  • Collaboration & Leadership:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic goals.
    • Provide mentorship to junior team members, fostering growth within the department.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field recommended but not required.
    • CPA designation is ideal.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years audit or public accounting experience is ideal but not required.
    • Audit and CRA compliance experience is highly valued.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in data analytics, including Power Query and other business intelligence tools. Like business activity queries.
    • Experience utilizing Epicor or other accounting software.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a high-energy environment.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and process improvement.
