About the role

Work that evolves with you and with our members At CSS Pension Plan, we’ve been supporting members’ financial futures since 1939. Today, we serve more than 57,000 members and 300+ employers across Canada, managing over $5 billion in assets across defined contribution and defined benefit plans.

But what matters most right now is where we’re going.

CSS is undergoing meaningful digital evolution and service transformation — rethinking how we deliver member experiences, tools, and outcomes. We are building a more modern, connected, and responsive model of member support.

If you’re looking for work that combines purpose, complexity, and change — this is it.

Your Opportunity Join the Member Experience team as a Member Experience Specialist.

In this role, you will support members through key moments in their pension journey while contributing to a team that is actively evolving how service is delivered. This is an opportunity to be part of a modernizing experience model, where service, education, and digital capability are increasingly integrated.

This role is ideal for individuals who are energized by both delivering service today and helping shape how it is delivered in the future.

What you will do

• Administer pension transactions including transfers, withdrawals, death benefit payments, and banking updates • Maintain accurate member records and ensure compliance with CSS rules, policies, and legislation • Respond to member inquiries (phone, email, and other channels) with clear, accurate information • Support members with CSS technology, including myCSSPEN access and navigation • Refer members to Retirement and Pension Advisors or internal specialists when appropriate • Support year-end activities, including T4A processing and reporting • Maintain documentation across systems in accordance with internal standards • Contribute to compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement activities • Provide support across the Specialist team, working within a collaborative model where responsibilities are shared and team members contribute across functions

You will also support employer-facing service activities as part of the broader Member Experience team.

Work as part of a collaborative Specialist model where team members contribute across all areas of service delivery, supported by CSS’ core Employee Values and “Peak of Collaboration”: the Structure of Growth, the Foundation of Accountability, and the Bedrock of Respect

What You Bring • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical information clearly • Attention to detail and sound judgement • Ability to work effectively in a structured, regulated environment • Strong organizational and time management skills • A commitment to delivering high-quality member service • Post-secondary diploma (or greater) in finance, accounting, or administration

What will set you apart • Experience in pension, benefits, or financial services administration • Experience in customer or member service environments • Ability to explain complex or technical information in a clear, simple way • Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC), or willingness to pursue

A combination of equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.

What to expect In your first several weeks, you will participate in a structured onboarding program designed to build technical knowledge, systems understanding, and confidence in supporting members.

As CSS continues to evolve, this role will also evolve — including opportunities to contribute to improved processes, enhanced digital tools, and new ways of delivering member education and support.

This role is well-suited to individuals who are adaptable, curious, and motivated to grow alongside a changing service model.

Why CSS? We offer: • A collaborative, diverse, and inclusive workplace culture • A competitive salary and variable compensation program • A comprehensive benefits package, including a personal spending account • Participation in the CSS Pension Plan • Flexible work-life balance options • Paid flex time and volunteer time • Opportunities for professional development and career growth • A chance to make a real difference in the lives of those we serve
