Job Title: Business Analyst – Capital Markets / Financial Services Location: Toronto, ON (hybrid) Duration: 6 months to start (possibility of extension) Rate: CAD55-CAD60/hr
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets and Financial Services to join a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with business and technology stakeholders, driving requirements gathering, facilitating discussions, and delivering complex initiatives across capital markets environments. Experience in Prime Brokerage is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements. Lead workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirements elicitation sessions. Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements, user stories, process flows, and business documentation. Act as a liaison between business users, technology teams, project managers, and senior leadership. Drive project execution, issue resolution, and decision-making across multiple stakeholders. Support solution design, testing, implementation, and post-production activities. Facilitate UAT planning, execution, and defect management. Produce business process maps, gap analyses, and impact assessments. Ensure project deliverables align with strategic business objectives and regulatory requirements where applicable.
Required Qualifications 7+ years of Business Analysis experience within Capital Markets or Financial Services. Strong experience working directly with senior business and technology stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to drive initiatives independently and manage competing priorities. Experience gathering and documenting complex business requirements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies. Proficiency in producing BRDs, FRDs, use cases, process flows, and user stories.
Preferred Qualifications Experience within Prime Brokerage environments. Exposure to Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, Trade Lifecycle, Securities, Equities, Fixed Income, or Derivatives. Knowledge of capital markets products, trading workflows, and post-trade processing. Experience working on regulatory, transformation, data, or platform modernization initiatives.
