This position is open to candidates across Canada, with all employees working remotely from their homes. Key Responsibilities

Bank Reconciliations Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts. Post journal entries for bank fees, interest, foreign exchange, and other unrecorded banking activity. Post the quarterly journal entry to record the increase or decrease in the fair market value of investments, based on the investment manager's statement. Ensure all bank accounts are reconciled and cleared prior to month-end close. Billing Support and/or Accounts Receivable Apply incoming cash, including wire transfers and electronic funds transfers, to the correct accounts, invoices, and general ledger coding. Investigate and resolve billing disputes. Transfer revenue transactions from Salesforce/Fonteva into the financial system and check that billing data is complete and accurate. Prepare month-end publication revenue entries, reconciliations, and related accounting activities. Credit Card Transactions & Reconciliations Review and process corporate credit card transactions, ensuring proper coding, approval, and support. Prepare monthly credit card reconciliations between statements and the general ledger. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or unsupported transactions in a timely manner. Deferred Revenue Post monthly deferred revenue and revenue recognition journal entries. Manage customer deposits and related reconciliations. Fixed Assets Maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger, including additions, disposals, and transfers. Calculate and post monthly amortization and depreciation journal entries. Month-End & Financial Close Prepare monthly accruals and adjusting journal entries. Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations. Ensure all transactions are recorded prior to reconciliation for applicable accounts. Assist the Director, Finance with the month-end close and flag items that could delay reporting deadlines. General Accounting & Projects Prepare and post general journal entries and assist with general ledger cleanup. Assist with periodic data integrity reviews in the accounting and ERP systems. Perform reconciliations specific to IIBA's operations as a not-for-profit association, including chapter activity. Provide audit support by preparing reconciliations, compiling documentation, and supplying requested transaction samples. Contribute to special projects and ongoing finance initiatives, including scoping, analysis, and implementation. Monitor the shared finance mailbox/virtual mailbox and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner within expected turnaround times. Suggest process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Skills/Previous Experience 3+ years of accounting experience, including bank reconciliations, fixed assets, and month-end close support. Experience preparing journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Experience with fixed asset accounting, including amortization/depreciation calculations and reconciliations. Working knowledge of deferred revenue and revenue recognition. . Experience reconciling credit card transactions and investigating discrepancies. Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables, plus experience with accounting/ERP systems and the ability to learn new systems quickly. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment. Experience with billing and accounts receivable, including invoicing, billing inquiries, and AR follow-up. Experience preparing audit working papers and supporting documentation requests. Working towards a professional accounting designation (CPA) is considered an asset.

Salary The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 CAD.
