Responsibilities The AI & Data Analyst Intern will work on specific projects that may include, but are not limited to: Working with XPV team members to understand current workflows, pain points, and business problems across deal flow, portfolio support, and internal operations. Analyzing problems and identifying where AI, automation, data tools, or process improvements can create value. Helping structure and organize data so it can be used more effectively to generate insights, improve accuracy, and support decision-making. Identifying opportunities that help the team work faster and produce better outputs by building or improving practical AI-enabled workflows, prompts, templates, agents, or tools. Supporting additional firm-wide AI, data and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Experience & Education Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate post-secondary program in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field. Dual-degree students with Computer Science and Business Administration are strongly preferred. Must be in their final year of study and available for either a 4-month or 8-month internship. Demonstrated experience using AI tools, large language models, coding tools, automation platforms, and data analysis tools. Active involvement in extracurricular activities such as hackathons, investment clubs, entrepreneurship clubs, computer science clubs, athletics, or other high-performance organizations. Previous internship or work experience involving analytics, AI, automation, business problem-solving, investing, consulting, startups, or business operations. Demonstrated track record of taking initiative, driving results, and leading or owning meaningful projects.
Skills and Characteristics Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to break down complex business problems and develop practical solutions. Ability to leverage AI, data, and technology to improve workflows, decision-making, and productivity. Experience working with AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and similar technologies. Strong understanding of data structures, data organization, data security, and how data can be leveraged to improve AI outputs and business insights. Ability to combine technical capabilities with business judgment. Self-starter with a strong work ethic, high determination, and a results-oriented mindset. Curious, resourceful, and highly motivated to learn and continuously improve. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Passion for water, sustainability, and working within a high-impact organization. Enthusiasm for helping build and scale companies that contribute to a more water-secure future. Demonstrated interest in investing, technology, entrepreneurship, and business growth.
