The Role As Assistant Manager, Collateral Operations, you will support the day-to-day execution of global collateral management activities for securities borrowing and lending across the Scotia Group. You will oversee margining, exposure monitoring, settlements, and reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely delivery while supporting operational oversight and process improvements. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Support daily collateral workflows across bilateral and triparty arrangements, including margin calls, settlements, exposure monitoring, and reconciliations Monitor operational activities to ensure deadlines, collateral coverage, and service level expectations are consistently met Review exception reports, exposure data, and operational metrics to identify discrepancies and risks Act as an escalation point for operational issues, providing guidance on process execution and resolution Support workflow coordination, capacity planning, and allocation of daily tasks across the team Contribute to process improvements, SOP updates, and operational efficiency initiatives Partner with internal stakeholders, custodians, triparty agents, and counterparties to resolve issues Ensure adherence to internal controls, collateral guidelines, and U.S./Canadian regulatory requirements Participate in system enhancements, testing activities, and project initiatives related to collateral operations
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
Hands-on experience in collateral management, including margining, exposure monitoring, and reconciliations across bilateral and triparty arrangements Strong understanding of securities lending operations and collateralization practices Experience with industry platforms such as Pirum, EquiLend, and securities lending systems (Loanet, Gloss, Global One, Loan One, Paramax, Escape, Anvil) Familiarity with triparty agents and custodians (BNY Mellon, JPMorgan) and depositories (CDS, DTCC, BNY Fed) Working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian regulatory frameworks related to collateral management and securities lending Experience reviewing exposure reports, exception reporting, and operational metrics Technical skills in data and reporting tools such as Python and Power BI Experience supporting operational workflows, process improvements, and system changes within collateral or securities lending environments
