About the role

Organization Overview De dwa da dehs nyes Aboriginal Health Centre (DAHC) and Grand River Community Health Centre (GRCHC) are seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms or independent consultants to conduct a comprehensive strategic financial review and support the development of a multi-year financial planning framework for each organization.

DAHC is an Indigenous community-based health organization undergoing a large-scale capital development project, they are committed to providing high-quality, wholistic, culturally responsive services while ensuring long-term financial sustainability and organizational resilience.

GRCHC is a community health organization offering a range of services including primary care, health promotion and community development. The organization plays a significant role in the health sector in Brantford with specific programming in chronic disease management, mental health and addictions and outreach to International Agricultural workers. The organization acts as a transfer payment agency for the Ontario Midwifery Program and the Brantford Brant Norfolk Ontario Health Team.

This work will support the organizations to strengthen financial stewardship, identify opportunities and risks, aligning financial resources with strategic priorities, and inform future decision-making.

The purpose of this Request for Quotes is to engage a consultant to: Conduct a strategic review of the organizations’ current financial position and sustainability. Assess financial risks, pressures, and opportunities. Support leadership in developing financial planning approaches aligned with organizational priorities and growth. Support the financial planning and tracking for a large-scale capital redevelopment project (DAHC specific). Provide recommendations to strengthen long-term financial sustainability and decision-making processes in a community health sector context.

Scope of Work The selected consultant will be expected to complete the following activities:

Financial Review Review audited financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and relevant financial documentation Analyze current funding structures, revenue streams, expenditures, and cost drivers Assess organizational financial trends and sustainability considerations Identify financial risks, pressures, and opportunities

Strategic Financial Planning Develop financial projections and scenario planning models (e.g., best case, moderate growth, risk scenarios) Assess alignment between strategic priorities and financial resources Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, accountabilities and tracking processes, and sustainability Provide recommendations regarding reserve strategies, investment considerations, and financial planning practices where appropriate Identify tools and resources to support the work

Stakeholder Engagement Meet with organizational leadership and key internal stakeholders – both in partnership and individually, as the work requires Facilitate discussions to understand organizational priorities, growth considerations, and financial concerns Present preliminary findings and validate recommendations

Final Deliverables - The consultant will provide: A written strategic financial review report Financial sustainability and risk analysis Multi-year financial planning recommendations Financial scenarios and forecasting tools/templates Final presentation to leadership and/or Board of Directors of each organization

Desired Qualifications - Proponents should demonstrate: Experience conducting strategic financial reviews and planning processes Experience working with non-profit community health and publicly funded organizations Strong understanding of funding models, financial sustainability and Boards Strong communication and reporting skills

Preference may be given to consultants with experience supporting Indigenous organizations and/or community health sector organizations.
