Risk Management Analyst - Winnipeg, MB

Develop innovative risk and liability improvement recommendations and strategies

Here is what a typical day looks like

• Travel onsite to survey commercial businesses on behalf of Western and provide loss prevention recommendations to reduce the frequency and severity of losses arising from property, crime and liability
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Sales and Service departments and the policyholder in the delivery and execution of Loss Control survey and service practices
• Conduct risk evaluation services (property and liability) through site surveys to identify and evaluate loss exposure, hazards, and controls for risks.
• Provide meaningful recommendations for loss prevention improvements through analysis of construction, occupancy, protection, exposures, hazards, fire protection systems, etc.
• Collect information on client accounts such as historical claims analysis, loss trends, assess the possibility of future losses and other unique technical areas
• Be well informed of industry and technical news and developments and share the knowledge gained with peers, business partners, and policyholders
• Be our advocate, develop and deliver risk management seminars for commercial insurance clients and employees

The value you bring

• Experience in insurance, trades, civil technology, safety, commercial risk management, or loss prevention
• Experience implementing loss control solutions in a commercial environment
• CIP and/or CRM designation is an asset
• Infrared Thermography Level 1 and Level 2 is an asset
• Trades experience - Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing / Technical aptitude preferred
• Possess effective oral and written communication skills to interact with underwriting, clients, and team members
• Ability to travel (up to 40%) to various client sites to perform surveys – valid Driver’s License required
• Attainment of a General Level 2 license or RIBO is required within the first 12 months of employment
