The Property Appraisal Advisor role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of property damage estimates submitted to the claims department. This position is responsible for thoroughly reviewing and analyzing property damage estimates, assessing their adherence to company guidelines, policy coverage, and industry standards. The Property Estimate Review Desk personnel meticulously validate the estimation accuracy by identifying and addressing any discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies within the estimates. They communicate effectively with adjusters, vendors, and other stakeholders to gather additional information and resolve any issues related to the estimates. Compliance and quality assurance are key priorities, as the Property Estimate Review Desk team ensures that estimates comply with policy conditions and regulatory requirements. Additionally, this role actively contributes to process improvements by sharing expertise, providing guidance, and offering insights on industry best practices. The Property Estimate Review Desk professionals maintain comprehensive documentation of their reviews and generate reports to track trends, identify areas for improvement, and support decision-making processes within the claims department. What you will do: Thoroughly review property damage estimates submitted by field/desk adjusters, external vendors, third parties or third party insurers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company guidelines and industry standards. Analyze estimates for consistency in scope, pricing, and adherence to policy coverage. Ensure that property damage estimates comply with applicable insurance policies, coverage limitations, and regulatory requirements. Conduct quality assurance checks to verify that estimates meet company standards, including proper documentation, coding, and pricing. Identify and address any discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies within property damage estimates. Validate cost estimates for materials, labor, and other relevant factors to ensure accuracy and reasonableness. Communicate effectively with adjusters, vendors, and other stakeholders to gather additional information, clarify discrepancies, or resolve issues related to property damage estimates. Collaborate with the claims team to provide guidance, feedback, and support regarding estimate reviews and any necessary adjustments. Identify opportunities for cost containment and recommend alternative approaches or solutions to minimize claim expenses without compromising policyholder satisfaction or coverage. Maintain detailed and accurate records of estimate reviews, findings, and recommendations. Generate reports or summaries documenting review outcomes, trends, and areas for improvement. Negotiate and resolve any disputes or discrepancies with adjusters, vendors, or contractors regarding estimate findings or recommended modifications. Stay updated on industry best practices, construction materials, repair methods, and pricing trends to enhance estimation accuracy and effectiveness. Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to optimize the estimate review and approval process. Contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of internal policies, guidelines, and procedures related to property damage estimation, review, and approval. Assist in training and mentoring new or less-experienced team members or adjusters in property estimate review processes, guidelines, and quality assurance standards. Share expertise and provide guidance on complex or challenging estimate reviews as required. Ensure a high level of customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, concerns, or escalations related to property damage estimates. Collaborate with the claims team to deliver accurate and fair claim settlements to policyholders while maintaining cost control measures. What you need to succeed: Strong estimating knowledge and experience with Xactimate Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and construction practices Strong and effective communication skills Effective Time management skills Ability to problem solve and seek solution driven results Strong analytical skills to identify, track and report on trends Undergraduate degree preferred The expected base salary range for this position is $56,000 - $103,500. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual’s discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals. Please note: This range reflects the expected base salary for this role but may not represent the full compensation range for all experience and skill levels.
