Role Description The Financial Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Bathurst, NB. This position oversees the organization’s financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow management, and long-term financial planning. The Financial Director prepares, reviews, and analyzes financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance with relevant regulations, and alignment with organizational goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring financial performance, guiding the annual budgeting process, managing financial risks, and providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership. The role also involves coordinating with external auditors, maintaining internal controls, and leading or supporting finance staff to ensure efficient and transparent financial processes. Qualifications Strong finance and financial planning skills, with the ability to develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial strategies. Proficiency in preparing and interpreting financial statements and financial reporting, including compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Demonstrated analytical skills and experience in using financial data to support decision-making and performance improvement. Experience in leading or overseeing finance functions, including internal controls, risk management, and audit coordination. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; a professional designation (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an asset. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Experience with financial software and tools, and proficiency in standard office applications (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations).
