Position Overview

The Manager, Fund Accounting manages the operations and the performance of a Unit of Investment Fund Accounting and ensures that work is performed accurately, within specified time-frames, and in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Manages all aspects of resource management: recruitment, training, performance reviews and succession planning ensuring appropriate staffing levels to carry out the work of the department. Provides guidance and advice on work carried out by the group to ensure that deadlines are being met and information is accurate in order to improve the efficiency and reliability of the unit. Participates in setting departmental objectives ensuring that objectives are on target and being met and provides input into the budget process. Maintains contact and open lines of communication with clients and internal departments to resolve complex issues and maintain integrity of the department. Develops and implements procedures and controls to improve the efficiency and reliability of the unit.

Qualifications

University degree with concentration in accounting 5 to 7 years progressive experience Completion of Canadian Securities Course

Job Specific Competencies

The salary band for this position ranges between $98,000 - $148,000. Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, market conditions, relevant experience, education, training, and internal equity.
