About the role

*Topaz Transport Inc. *is a growing transportation and logistics company based in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia. We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team and oversee the company?s financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting company growth, improving financial processes, and assisting management with financial decision-making in a fast-paced transportation environment operating across Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the company?s financial operations and reporting
  • Develop, implement, and monitor company budgets and financial plans
  • Analyze financial performance, operating costs, profitability, and cash flow
  • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and internal financial analysis for management
  • Supervise and coordinate financial processes, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Work with online banking systems and manage financial transactions
  • Communicate with financial institutions, factoring companies, and external partners
  • Assist with financial strategy and operational planning
  • Monitor compliance with internal financial procedures and controls
  • Support management in business planning and financial decision-making
  • Collaborate with accounting and operational departments to improve efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum 3?5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial management
  • Previous experience in a Financial Manager, or Senior Financial Analyst role is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and financial analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems
  • Experience working with online banking platforms and financial institutions
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is considered an asset
