MetCap Living Management Inc has an immediate opening for a Corporate Controller
Reports to: Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer
In this role, you will work closely with the President and EVP and Chief Financial Officer on all aspects of accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, taxation planning and compliance, treasury and cash flow management of the corporate business, lines of business as well as investment holdings. You will be responsible to plan, organize, lead and control day to day accounting, business and operations.
Responsibilities: • Monthly reporting for the corporate business, various business lines and investment holdings on an accurate and timely basis • Preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with applicable standards and management of year end audit process • Consolidation of company-wide financial results • Oversees and manages all day to day accounting functions including revenues, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets/capital, collections • Oversees and manages all day to day business processes • Maintains and improves financial information and recording systems by ensuring proper accounting principles and practices are applied, company policies are adhered to and ensures all financial information within the organization is collected and reported in a timely manner to meet internal and external reporting requirements • Analysis and adhoc reporting of business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to support timely business decisions • Cash flow management • Annual budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning process • Oversee all external/regulatory reporting of corporate and business lines • Ensure compliance on all tax filings of the Company and its affiliates, liase with tax consultants on structuring and executing tax planning ideas • Monitor performance, lead and coach a team • Reporting to third party investors • Maintaining and continuously improving the internal control processes and documentation • Oversee banking relationships and administration of all banking services company wide • Oversee day to day operations, business and administration of the Corporate Office including budgetary oversight
Qualifications: • Must haves: CPA, CA. with at least 5 years in public accounting • Experience managing a team or previous supervisory experience a must • Passion for financial reporting and operational excellence • High degree of accuracy and analytical skills coupled with strong problem-solving skills • Proven leadership and coaching skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills required • Sound knowledge of taxation concepts in planning and compliance (corporate and partnership tax) and experience in real estate and farm taxation an asse
Salary Range: $120,000.00 (dependent on relevant experience and qualifications)
