The Office of Justice Programs (OJP) at the Department of Public Safety provides leadership and resources to reduce crime, improve the functioning of the criminal justice system, and assist crime victims. This position exists in the Crime Victim Grants Unit to manage and monitor compliance with all federal and state grant funds to organizations that provide services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and general crime in Minnesota. This position provides technical assistance, training, support, and information to service providers both funded and non-funded by OJP and all other customers to enhance the capacity of communities to respond effectively to those impacted by crime, and maintain strong, victim-centered services statewide.

Key Responsibilities Include

Manage and monitor a portfolio of state and federally funded grants for the Office of Justice Programs Join special project teams to improve the efficacy, efficiency, and compliance of OJP grants administration and access to OJP's grant programs Implement, and communicate policies, procedures, and processes related to grants administration for OJP Provide high levels of customer service and technical assistance to grantees and potential grantees

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in the crime victim services field requiring the application of specialized knowledge, independent judgment, and coordination of services to support victims and stakeholders. Experience providing technical assistance and training. Knowledge of accounting functions and the ability to understand revenue/expense reports and to interpret and analyze budgets. Experience in grant management including project implementation and reporting, budget development, and financial reporting. Strong communication, time-management, facilitation, and leadership skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the civil and criminal justice system. Ability to identify problems and develop creative solutions. Effective decision making skills. Strong skills in building and maintaining positive working relationships among professional colleagues, community stakeholders, collaborative partners, and grantees. Ability to work collaboratively as a team member, and independently with self-direction.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others, and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
