Job Summary

The Manager, Investor Relations supports strategic communication efforts and cultivates meaningful relationships with GDI’s internal and also external stakeholders, including institutional investors, sell-side analysts, and other key partners, while supporting the Senior Director, Investor Relations. Leveraging a deep understanding of GDI’s financial performance and competitive landscape, this role is instrumental in crafting and delivering impactful narratives that align with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key deliverables include facilitating effective communication with stakeholders, conducting market research and analysis, managing and maintaining GDI’s strategic plan, and developing and updating presentations for internal and external audiences. The role also provides critical support on special projects as required, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering transparency with the investment community.

Main Responsibilities

Develop high-impact presentations: Produce clear and concise presentations for quarterly and annual Board meetings, as well as for lenders and other external stakeholders, effectively communicating financial performance and strategic insights; Craft financial communications: Prepare financial press releases and other communication materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with corporate messaging; Analyze Market Trends and Competitors: Conduct regular analyses of market trends and competitor performance, developing reports that provide actionable insights to inform strategy; Track analyst consensus and highlight any discrepancies to Senior Leadership; Follow up with investors and analysts after meetings and conferences to ensure they have all requested and necessary information; Monitor financial markets closely and highlight any trends to Senior Leadership; Deliver ad hoc support: Contribute to ad hoc analyses and projects as required, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to evolving business needs.

Qualifications

Educational background: A Bachelor’s degree is required; additional credentials such as CPA, MBA, or CFA are highly advantageous; Experience requirements: A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles is essential, with a demonstrated track record of financial leadership; Proven ability to translate complex financial insights into actionable operational recommendations, driving meaningful business outcomes; Experience in the retail industry is considered an asset; Bilingualism (French and English) is required for daily communication with suppliers, employees, and stakeholders, both within and outside of Quebec; Thrive in dynamic environments and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in addressing challenges and opportunities; Challenge the status quo by contributing impactful ideas and solutions that drive improvements; Build strong partnerships and prioritize collaboration to achieve shared goals; Present information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner tailored to the audience.
