Cambrian is currently seeking a Manager, Communications to join our growing Communications & Community Engagement team!

The Manager, Communications works in collaboration with senior leaders across the organization to deliver impactful communication plans for a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.  The role plays a critical function in simplifying complex organizational, operational, and technical information into clear, actionable communications for employees. By leveraging a broad range of communication methods and channels, the Manager ensures messages are accessible, engaging, and aligned with Cambrian’s strategic priorities. 

As the Manager, Communications, you will: 

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Communications team, fostering strong performance, accountability, and continuous skill development.
  • Create and oversee internal communications aligned to Cambrian’s voice and strategic direction and priorities. Communication formats include but are not limited to employee communications, presentations, videos, scripts, in-branch printed materials (brochures, signage), press releases, and website copy.
  • Partner with the Marketing department to plan, develop, and deliver coordinated external communications that effectively position Cambrian’s brand, products, and services for members and the broader public. Develop and execute integrated communication plans that sequence a variety of channels and formats to drive understanding, engagement, and desired outcomes. Participate in the Change Management Committee.
  • Lead the development and ongoing optimization of Cambrian’s intranet as both a primary internal communication tool and a trusted information portal.
  • Coordinate communication responses to technology outages and service disruptions, ensuring timely, accurate, and clear messaging to members that maintains trust, manages expectations, and supports effective resolution.
  • Lead Cambrian’s commitment to increasing financial literacy in our community. Identify and act on opportunities to promote and develop financial literacy for all stakeholders.
  • Build member engagement through strategies including direct member communications that increase knowledge, awareness and the overall financial wellbeing of members.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external partners to support the delivery of high-quality communication initiatives.
  • Support the planning, organization, and communication of the Annual General Meeting, Annual Report, and Director Elections.

 We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A minimum five years of communications experience in a corporate environment, with significant involvement in developing and delivering communications to a variety of stakeholders.
  • A degree or diploma in Communications, Creative Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional leadership experience is considered an asset.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to tailor and adapt impactful communications for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Experience in all forms and methods of communication including creative, video production, print production and social media.
  • Exceptional attention to detail including analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience providing leadership with the proven ability to influence others at all levels in the organization.
  • The ability to work well in a diverse environment with multiple and often changing priorities.
