Role Description The Financial Planning Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, BC. In this position, the specialist collaborates with advisors and clients to develop comprehensive financial plans, including retirement, tax, estate, and cash flow planning. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing client financial information, preparing detailed financial projections, and interpreting complex financial data to provide clear, actionable recommendations. The role also involves reviewing and updating financial plans, supporting advisors with client presentations and reporting, and ensuring that all planning activities align with regulatory requirements and firm standards. The specialist contributes to continuous improvement of planning tools and processes, and may participate in internal training and best-practice sharing across the advisory team. Qualifications Strong Financial Planning skills, including experience building comprehensive retirement, tax, and estate planning strategies. Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret complex financial data, model scenarios, and generate clear, client-focused recommendations. Solid understanding of Finance principles, investment products, and wealth management solutions. Practical knowledge of Accounting and Financial Reporting to assess client statements, cash flows, and net worth. Relevant professional designation (e.g., CFP, PFP, CPA, CFA) or progress toward such credentials is an asset. Post-secondary degree or diploma in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts in clear, accessible language. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with advisors and colleagues in a professional, client-focused environment. Familiarity with financial planning software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
