Associate, Corporate Banking Business Enablement, Global Banking & Markets - Toronto, ON
Global Banking and Markets Global Banking and Markets (GBM) conducts the Bank’s wholesale banking and capital markets business with corporate, government and institutional investor clients. GBM is a full-service wholesale bank and investment dealer in Canada and Mexico and offers a range of products and services in the U.S., Latin America and in select markets in Europe and Asia-Pacific.
More specifically, GBM provides clients with: corporate lending; transaction banking (including payments, trade finance and cash management); investment banking (including corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions); fixed income and equity underwriting, sales, trading and research; prime services (prime brokerage and stock lending); foreign exchange sales and trading; commodity derivatives; and collateral management.
Purpose
Contribute and support the profitable growth of GBM globally, ensuring that business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered upon.
What You’ll Do
Actively involved in the GBM deal flow on a global basis with day-to-day responsibilities including reviewing deal forum materials and managing processes. Support and facilitate the overall reporting of transaction throughput and outcomes for opportunities while liaising with key departments as required including CIB, COO, Finance/Capital Management, Client Analytics and GRM. Contributing to CB portfolio management including holistic review of profitability and client plans. Assist with industry reviews and other ad hoc reporting based on business needs. Understand how the Bank’s strategy and risk appetite should be considered in day-to-day activities in decisions. Builds and maintains relationships with other stakeholder groups to ensure a thorough understanding of the drivers of profitability and any proposed changes to those drivers Maintain in depth knowledge of how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions and work with relevant business groups in order to identify opportunities and potential concerns in a particular business line or industry Works in a high-performance environment and fosters by fosters an inclusive work environment. Helps to drive a customer-focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
What You’ll Bring
A minimum of three years of progressive, relevant and practical experience Professional risk related accreditation desirable (i.e. CA, CPA, CFA, etc.) Specific bank lending/adjudication, market risk and/or credit risk experience Solid understanding of: various debt products and derivatives and their uses general accounting and risk management principles (GAAP, GARP, etc.) broad tax, regulatory and compliance principles and regulations Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Solid knowledge of MS Co-Pilot Strong knowledge of the Bank’s policies, procedures and related risk management culture and appetite Awareness of the always evolving broad global business environment, and the ability to incorporate these factors into the risk assessment, monitoring and management process Work Arrangement
This position is an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work five days a week in the office.
