Raise is currently hiring a Lease Administration Business Analyst on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The Lease Administration Business Analyst in this role will join our clients real estate team. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing the end-to-end lifecycle of our real estate portfolio, ensuring accurate lease records, maintaining financial compliance, and supporting seamless operations across business units, landlords, and legal counsel. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and experience working within complex lease accounting frameworks.

Responsibilities

Lease Lifecycle Management: Support the full lifecycle of real estate leases, including renewals, amendments, and terminations. Act as the primary liaison between internal business units, landlords, legal counsel, and external stakeholders during lease negotiations. Coordinate and facilitate the review, preparation, and execution of real estate documents. Database & Document Management: Maintain accurate lease records, documentation, and critical milestone dates. Manage document workflows, route agreements for signature, and maintain comprehensive audit trails. Submit vendor setup and modification requests for real estate suppliers. Lease Accounting & Financial Systems: Upload and capture all real estate leases within PowerPlan. Partner closely with accounting teams to support lease accounting processes and financial reporting requirements, ensuring strict compliance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842). Budgeting & Financial Reporting: Assist with portfolio-wide real estate budgeting. Prepare detailed rent reports for the 4&8 and 8&4 budgeting cycles and provide variance explanations. Financial Operations & Payment Processing: Process lease payments efficiently to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Perform regular payment reconciliations and proactively resolve discrepancies. Manage subtenant rent collections (revenue) and issue accurate billings/invoices.

Qualifications

4+ years of progressive experience in commercial lease administration, real estate operations, property accounting, or a closely related business analyst role. Demonstrated hands-on experience handling complex lease agreements, amendments, and renewals. Proven track record of participating in budgeting cycles and variance analysis. Skills & Competencies Technical Proficiency: Experience working with lease management systems and accounting software (specifically PowerPlan or similar enterprise financial systems). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of lease accounting principles and financial compliance standards (e.g., ASC 842). Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional interpersonal and liaison skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships with internal stakeholders, landlords, and legal counsel. Organizational Acumen: High attention to detail with superior time-management skills to track critical dates, manage document workflows, and handle high-volume financial data accurately. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical capabilities for payment reconciliations, variance explanations, and resolving operational discrepancies. Education and Certifications Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate Management, or a related field. Preferred: Relevant professional designations or specialized training in lease administration or commercial real estate.
