About the role

Reporting to senior management, the Director of Finance plays a strategic role in the organization’s financial management and performance. He/she ensures the sound management of financial operations by maintaining data accuracy, optimizing resources, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with internal teams and head office, he/she actively contributes to financial direction, decision-making, and continuous process improvement. He/she also plays a key role in the evolution of financial systems and in implementing rigorous practices that enhance organizational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

-       Manage and oversee daily activities related to general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, financial variances, and forecasting.

-       Approve monthly journal entries within required deadlines.

-       Analyze general ledger balances and produce monthly financial reports.

-       Contribute to the “Life of Mine” process.

-       Manage and coordinate annual budget planning and periodic revisions.

-       Manage the quarterly forecasting process.

-       Respond to financial requests from head office.

-       Develop and maintain financial performance tracking tools.

-       Establish and apply accounting methods, policies, and principles.

-       Ensure compliance with tax obligations.

-       Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial statements.

-       Improve administrative processes and internal controls.

-       Manage tax files and records.

-       Oversee treasury management.

-       Assume responsibility for internal and external audits.

-       Participate in special projects.

-       Act as the SAP resource person.

-       Improve systems and procedures.

-       Perform any other related duties.

Qualifications

-       University degree in accounting or administration.

-       Member of the Ordre des CPA du Québec (asset).

-       Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior finance leadership role.

-       Experience in the mining sector (an asset).

-       Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.

-       Bilingualism (French/English) to communicate with colleagues in other provinces (approximately 30% of the time) (an asset).
