About the role
Telecon is looking for an energetic and career minded professional to take on the role of Finance Business Partner.
This full-time position is primarily remote with only 1–2 days per week required in our office located in Vaughan.
The expected annual salary for this position is in the range of $90,000–$105,000, based on the richness and diversity of the candidate's experience, training, skills, and internal equity. The final salary may vary depending on the successful candidate's profile.
In this position you will be responsible for providing financial and accounting support, including but not limited to: month end activities, managing revenue and costs, setting up comprehensive internal controls as well as leading the planning and forecast activities during the year. This position will also operate at the forefront of financial analysis; by collecting, analyzing and synthesizing such financial information. They will influence and partner with the various functions within the company to offer operational optimization solutions.
YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements. Support the development and implementation of best financial practices. Assist with financial budgeting and forecasting activities. Provide accurate and timely financial results, analysis and forecasts for the business as well as operational key indicators. Providing financial analysis to business unit management. Supporting the preparation of management reports. Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Support alignment between business units and the financial process, policies and systems. Develop, track and report on KPIs as agreed to with business unit. Establish metrics, key performance indicators and monitoring systems that maintain accountability and manage risks, understand key levels of performance. Drive, along with business leaders, the various operating initiatives of the business on value creation, including process optimization. Drive innovation and establish best practices that enhance the quality of reporting and ensure that the operations finance team is proactive and focused on value-added activities, supporting the operations. Develop analytical tools and techniques to assist Management in resource allocation decisions. Drive process and system improvements around financial reporting, analysis and internal controls. Develop and maintain reports to support the business unit. Prepare and/or approve all required project journal entries for the month-end closing process based on milestone or percentage of completion.
THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THESE SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
Undergraduate degree specializing in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Finance Business Partner Advisory position. CPA or CA designation is required. Experience in the telecommunications / construction industry an asset. Excellent communication skills, including writing and presentation. Strong knowledge of project cost management. Strong background in accounting operations, financial planning and business analytics. Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking skills. Proven financial leadership and ability to drive results with a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and a passion for success. Planning and organizational skills in a high-velocity and complex environment. Uncompromising professional ethics and integrity. Excellent team-building and leadership skills with an orientation towards managing and developing high-quality talent within the organization. Ability to articulate smart and sometimes complex solutions in a straightforward and lucid manner to a variety of audiences. Ability to dive deep into the details of the business while staying focused on the big picture perspective. Pushes for creative ideas, is purposeful and enterprising in problem-solving, embraces diverse trends, skills and viewpoints.
