About the role

Director – Accelerated M&A & Distressed Turnaround (Vancouver Based, Working with UK Team) The Opportunity Are you an established Transaction Services Director in Vancouver seeking a highly autonomous role, a transparent career trajectory, and the flexibility of modern, remote-first working? For a senior professional with 5 to 7+ years of experience navigating the Big 4 or major advisory firm environment, local career progression can often feel restricted by rigid corporate structures, regional deal size ceilings, and shifting partnership criteria. We offer a compelling alternative. We are an elite, agile advisory boutique specializing in Distressed Turnaround and Accelerated M&A (AMA). We are seeking a technically exceptional, highly analytical Director to join our team in Canada. In this unique role, you will be based in Vancouver but will work directly with our core UK team to deliver high-stakes, mid-market UK transactions and restructuring projects. This position offers the intellectual challenge of international cross-border deals, a clear and merit-based path to equity/partnership, and true geographic freedom to work remotely within British Columbia. About the Role In accelerated M&A and distressed restructuring, financial accuracy is absolute. As a Director, you will not merely act as a high-level reviewer; you will be the ultimate guardian of financial integrity for our primary UK-facing engagements. You will lead the delivery of complex financial analyses, taking hands-on responsibility for the construction, validation, and defense of integrated financial models. This role requires an exceptional accountant who can dissect complex financial statements, implement flawless quality control processes, and confidently prepare businesses for buy-side due diligence. Key Responsibilities Cross-Border Project Delivery: Collaborate seamlessly with the UK leadership team to deliver high-profile distressed and turnaround engagements, managing the workflow across time zones with high autonomy. Financial Model Integrity & Delivery: Lead the design, construction, and delivery of complex, integrated three-statement financial models and 13-week cash flow forecasts under compressed timelines. Rigorous Quality Control: Establish and implement robust checking mechanisms to identify and rectify model errors before delivery. You will ensure that every output is logically sound, mathematically correct, and fully defensible to UK lenders, sponsors, and buyers. Bidder Q&A and Due Diligence Prep: Prepare target businesses for rigorous buy-side financial due diligence (FDD). You will manage the bidder Q&A process, translating complex model mechanics into clear, strategic narratives. Stakeholder Management: Confidently manage relationships with sophisticated UK-based stakeholders—including corporate boards, lenders, and private equity sponsors—under highly pressured turnaround conditions. Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop junior professionals, fostering a high-performance culture of extreme ownership and technical excellence. What You’ll Need We are seeking an intellectually disciplined, pragmatic professional who possesses a deep understanding of corporate finance and restructuring mechanics. Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7+ years of experience within a Big 4 Transaction Services (Financial Due Diligence) or specialized corporate finance/restructuring boutique. Technical Qualifications: CPA (CPA Canada, CPA BC), CA, ICAEW, ACCA, or an equivalent recognized professional accounting qualification is essential. Modeling Expertise: Advanced, hands-on financial modeling capability in MS Excel. You must be comfortable building integrated three-statement models and short-term cash flow forecasts from first principles. Analytical Precision: An exceptional eye for detail, with a proven ability to audit complex financial data and identify discrepancies that others overlook. Communication & Gravitas: Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills are mandatory, as you will be advising UK-based clients, buyers, and lenders daily. Time-Zone Alignment: Willingness to structure your morning schedule in Vancouver to facilitate smooth collaboration with the UK team during core crossover hours. What Is Offered We believe that elite talent should be treated with trust, rewarded fairly, and given the space to perform at their best. International Exposure from BC: Gain direct, consistent exposure to the active UK distressed M&A and restructuring market without the need to relocate or commute. A Transparent Path to Partner: We have eliminated corporate political gatekeeping. Our partnership track is clearly defined, objective, and based entirely on merit, performance, and contribution to firm growth. True Geographic & Remote Flexibility: We operate a flexible, remote-first model in Vancouver. We trust you to manage your schedule and deliver results without unnecessary face-time requirements. High-Impact Engagement: Rather than producing lengthy compliance-driven reports, your work will directly influence critical, real-time transactions and business preservation. A Culture of Professional Respect: We maintain a collaborative, low-ego environment focused on delivering exceptional outcomes without administrative bureaucracy.
