About the role
Responsibilities
Within Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets integrates research, execution, risk management, and multi-asset structuring capabilities to deliver client-focused market solutions. As part of the Capital Markets Operational Risk Management (ORM) team, this role is responsible for managing and enhancing first-line controls across the Americas. The position focuses on executing the Written Supervisory Procedures (WSP) framework, supporting regulatory initiatives, and strengthening the front-office control environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce and maintain first-line control reports supporting the WSP framework
- Track and coordinate responses with supervision teams on control-related actions
- Support WSP and checklist quality assurance by identifying key risk areas, assessing control effectiveness, recommending and tracking remediation actions
- Evaluate and enhance the front-office supervision framework
- Partner with Risk, IT, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to deliver regulatory priorities
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency
- Optimize operational workflows through technology and cross-functional collaboration
- Oversee development of data-driven insights and dashboards (e.g., Power BI)
- Leverage tools such as Python, workflow platforms, and APIs to streamline processes
Profile required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, or a related field with exposure to financial markets
- ~5 years’ experience in capital markets or control functions (e.g., FO controls, audit, compliance, business management)
- Knowledge of Global Markets products (Equities and Fixed Income)
- Understanding of risk frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., Three Lines of Defense)
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of APIs and low-/no-code platforms
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
Additional
- Certifications (e.g., CORM, PRM, CAMS) are a plus
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Ability to work across trading, sales, risk, and compliance teams
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
