Role Overview The Financial Analyst will support both the treasury and financial planning and analysis functions for the organization. The role requires adherence to the Company’s treasury policies and processes as well as a detailed understanding of the revenue, costs, and other key metrics of the business to ensure meaningful support of each of the operations in Vancouver. The Financial Analyst will work closely with GCT’s operating and finance teams, reporting to the Manager, Treasury and Financial Planning & Analysis.
Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas under direction of the Manager, Treasury and Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Function as the primary lead for the Company’s financial and capital planning models and maintain supporting documentation used for budgeting, forecasting, liquidity, and long-range planning processes;
- Prepare short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts to support management of the Company’s liquidity position, optimizing cash positioning, monitoring borrowing capacity, and performing ad-hoc scenario analysis;
- Assist with the Company’s debt portfolio requirements, including compliance with debt agreements and covenants, administering debt service payments, and maintaining debt schedules and documentation requirements;
- Maintain the Company’s credit rating through preparation of financial models, schedules, and presentation materials;
- Administration of day-to-day banking requirements and record keeping;
- Assist with the preparation of internal and external written reports for Management and other stakeholders, including treasury reports, dashboards, and business updates;
- Maintain planning templates, coordinate inputs and prepare analyses to support regular planning cycles;
- Support preparation of treasury related information for interim financial statements and year-end audit;
- Participate in ad-hoc treasury projects, process improvements, and other initiatives as needed;
Requirements Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree, preferably supplemented by a CPA designation or equivalent.
- Three or more years of related work experience as a Financial Analyst or equivalent in industry or public practice (Big four experience considered an asset).
- Demonstrated progression through an accounting, treasury, or finance role (either in public practice or industry) with application of various financial analysis tools, methods, and technologies to support decision-making processes.
- Effective communication skills; ability to interact with and persuasively present financial issues to all levels of management.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience building complex financial models and a proficiency in PowerPoint.
- Experience preparing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts in enterprise performance systems (Adaptive) with related variance analysis considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience communicating and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Aptitude and enthusiasm for improving business and finance processes and making the best use of technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Salary Band
- Band S4: $93,264 - $109,104.
