Job Title: Mainframe QA Analyst (Banking Domain) Location: Toronto, ON Duration: Contract (Hybrid)
Job Description We are seeking an experienced Mainframe QA Analyst with mandatory banking domain experience to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience testing Mainframe applications, validating batch processes, and working closely with business and development teams in an Agile environment. Responsibilities Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing for Mainframe applications. Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements. Validate Mainframe batch jobs, online transactions, and file processing. Analyze business requirements and prepare detailed test scenarios. Perform data validation using DB2 and SQL queries. Coordinate with developers, Business Analysts, and business users to resolve defects. Execute batch testing and validate JCL job execution. Participate in defect triage meetings and track issues using JIRA or ALM. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production validation. Work within Agile/Scrum methodology and participate in sprint ceremonies. Ensure testing documentation is maintained and complies with banking standards. Mandatory Skills 8+ years of IT experience. 5+ years of Mainframe QA experience. Mandatory Banking Domain experience (Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, Payments, or Credit Cards). Strong experience with: Mainframe Testing COBOL JCL DB2 CICS VSAM Experience validating batch processing and Mainframe file transfers. Strong SQL skills for backend data validation. Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA or HP ALM. Experience in Functional, System, Integration, Regression, and UAT testing. Strong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Nice to Have Experience with File-AID, Abend-AID, Xpeditor, or IBM Debug tools. Knowledge of MQ Series or APIs. Automation testing experience. Experience with Banking regulatory or compliance projects.
